Taos Road // Mitchell Garman Architects
The "House on Taos" is a courtyard residence comprised of five separate structures connected by glass corridors. The standing seam metal roof folds down the exterior façade of the three main buildings to create a sense of privacy, while on the interior side, minimalist steel framed windows open widely to the courtyard and pool. The pallet of materials on the exterior is stone, plaster, steel, and siding, while the interior is a refined pallet of walnut and stone with concrete floors. Encaustic tile and glass tile bring playfulness of color to the guest bathrooms.
